Come discover Ein Kerem – a picturesque Jerusalem gem full of history and legends.
We will begin at the magical Church of the Visitation, amidst breathtaking mountain views. Here we will hear the moving story of Elizabeth and Mary – two courageous women from the New Testament, and we will dive into the world of Christian art with Franciscan paintings in the Italian style.

From there we will walk to the pastoral alleys of Ein Kerem - we will be told about the "Romeo and Juliet of Ein Kerem", we will discover the love story of Prince Sergei and Princess Elizabeth of Russia, and we will hear about the surprising connection between a British general and a 150-year-old mulberry tree.

We will visit a magical monastery that was once an orphanage, and enjoy a spectacular view of the entire surroundings.
We will end with a personal meeting with the artist Ruth Havilio, in her magical studio – the oldest stone house in Ein Kerem – where she creates ceramic vessels inspired by the magical village.

A tour that combines art, history, and romance – all within three hours of an unforgettable Jerusalem experience!

Tour structure:

◀ We will hear the story of Mary's apparition to Alphonsus, the monk who founded an orphanage and monastery.

◀ In the monastery's pastoral garden you can learn a little about Catholic nuns.

A meeting with Ruth Havilio, a famous painter who draws her inspiration from a vineyard, in a studio in an ancient courtyard in her authentic home, and explanations about the works.
