A scenic tour of Naples, from the observation points of Posillipo to the historic heart of the city

Start at Parco Virgiliano and the Gaia-Marciaro coastline, continue through local landmarks such as Riva Fiorita and Palazzo Don Anna, then head downtown: the Villa Comunale promenade, Castel dell'Ovo, Piazza del Plebiscito, Galleria Umberto I, and Teatro San Carlo—and finish at Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino).

A tour that combines Mediterranean scenery, historical stories, and local spots, with iconic stops along the way.

Tour structure:

Virgilian Park

Gaiola – An archaeological coastal area where a Roman temple was built in honor of the goddess Eulepia, patroness of sailors.

Marechiaro – a place that was highly valued during the Roman period, which was part of a large Roman settlement.

Riva Fiorita

Ara Votiva – Mausoleum for the fallen of the 1915–1918 war, in Egyptian style

St. Louis Square

Palazzo Donn’Anna – an ancient palace built in the 15th century.

Originally a hunting lodge belonging to the noble Bonifacio family, it later became the home of Anna Crapa and Spanish nobleman Don Ramiro Gusman (1636).

Mergellina: From the Latin word “margo” — “seashore.”.

This will be the end point of the first route, and also the place from which we will continue (if necessary) to the city center.

Municipal Villa

Castel dell'Ovo: A castle built on the small island of Megaride, towering over the center of the bay between the Mergellina marina and the Borgo Marinaro district.

Piazza del Plebiscito

Royal Palace

Galleria Umberto I – Located between Teatro San Carlo and Via Toledo.

San Carlo Theater

Castel Nuovo
