Bialik Street is the historic heart of Tel Aviv., a hub where culture, architecture, and urban identity converge.
On the tour we will follow the vision of the “first Hebrew city” As realized around the home of national poet Haim Nachman Bialik, we will recognize the development of the eclectic style in Tel Aviv in the 1920s – a combination of Oriental, classical, and European motifs – and the transition to the international style of the 1930s.
We will discuss the interrelationships between Strict preservation of heritage buildings for contemporary urban renewal, between public architecture and private homes that have become museums, and we will look at the street where the story of the city's birth can be read in a living, breathing architectural language.
At the end of the tour we will enter the Bialik Museum. – The historic home of the national poet, which is carefully restored and preserves the spirit of the period – and entry to it is subject to an additional fee for an entrance ticket.
