1. One explanation for the origin of the name Jaffa is Noah's son, Japheth.. The street that crosses Clock Square is named after it.

The team's most famous fan is none other than the community's rabbi, Rabbi Avramiko Becher, who performed circumcision, wedding, and marriage ceremonies for members of the community, while also arriving on his Vespa on Saturdays to watch the team's games. After all, it is well known that saving a life overrides the Sabbath, and cheering on Maccabi Jaffa is saving a life!
